- The inhabitants of Etzanoa were the ancestors of the modern day Wichita Tribe, and were called by several name
Juan de Onate
- The last Spanish Conquistador, Juan de Onate founded the colony of New Mexico, and in 1601 set out with 70 men to follow Coronado’s expedition.
The Battlefield
- A battle between the Spanish Conquistadors and Indigenous tribes ensued in the town of Etzanoa.
